Cruise Into Marriage!

by Ginny Gottfredson, Sales Manager, Lake Mead Cruises

Is a wedding in your future or perhaps a friend or family member is taking the ultimate leap of faith and trust? Whether the guest list is 2 or 250, Lake Mead Cruises’ Wedding Specialist, Lisa Stephens, and our gracious crew whisk the stress away from this very special day with caring, professional service and meticulous planning! The Desert Princess is a perfect site for the ceremony and reception, or just the reception, regardless the size of your budget.

A kaleidoscope skyscape is courtesy of Mother Nature with panoramic views of sparkling water, picturesque mountains and vocals by the occasional quacking duck for budget friendly Top Deck Weddings. An excellent solution for up to 75 guests! The Desert Princess is a 3-deck Mississippi River style Sternwheeler with 2 enclosed, climate controlled decks and open air Promenade. Ceremonies are performed before the Noon Sightseeing cruise February - October. A Minister presides over a brief, private ceremony concluding with a pull of the ship’s horn as the newlyweds seal the deal with a kiss before joining other passengers for a cruise to Hoover Dam and its spectacular new sidekick the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. Top Deck Weddings available April - October before Sunday Brunch Cruises and evening Dinner Cruises. Brunch Cruises offered at 10 am; Dinner Cruises at 6:30 pm. Fare for Brunch and Dinner Cruises includes a meal; seated luncheon service on the main deck may be added for sightseeing cruises.

Top Deck Weddings start at just $250 plus per person fare for the selected cruise. Wedding Cake, champagne or non-alcoholic sparkling cider, lunch, bridal bouquet, groom’s boutonniere and keepsake boarding photos are available to add-on. Lake Mead Cruises partners with Kris at Boulder City Florist for fabulous floral add-ons.

For hardier budgets Lake Mead Cruises offers several Private Wedding Cruise Packages, ideal for Ceremony and Reception or just Reception. Each package base includes 2 Hours of Cruising, Cake, Champagne Toast, and White Linen throughout the boat. There are price points up to 30 guests and up to 60 guests, and a per person rate for more than 60 guests, up to 250 guests.

Modest Celebration is the basic private package; Casual Celebration adds Appetizers and Keepsake Boarding Photos; both accommodate up to 250 guests. Classic Celebration is 3 hours of cruising, seated service dinner and Keepsake Boarding Photos, maximum 80 guests. Additional cruising time, bar packages, entertainment and weekend surcharge are available add-ons for packages. Lisa guides Wedding Couples through customized packages for the perfect fit! For example, small parties wanting a private package for 15 or 20. It’s no problem adding seated service dinner, more cruise time and keepsake boarding photos to the Modest Celebration rather than buy a larger package.

Private Packages allow the ceremony to be on the top deck of the Desert Princess for 90 or fewer guests. If your Minister plans to cruise, the ceremony might take place while the boat is under way; this option is only available with Private Packages. Kingman Wash, affectionately known as the Arizona Paintpots, is an unrivaled backdrop. Another popular ceremony background is Hoover Dam and the bridge. If your Minister prefers not to cruise, the Desert Princess remains at dock, cruising when he disembarks.

Wedding Guest List more than 90? No problem! Lake Mead Cruises Landing is a perfect ceremony site. When the Ceremony concludes, everyone boards the Desert Princess to celebrate. The Landing Facility Fee is a package add-on.

If Mother Nature’s grandeur and the sparkling water of Lake Mead are at the top of your wedding site list but cruising is not, Lisa has the ideal solution with Landing Wedding Packages. Amenities and add-ons mirror the Desert Princess Packages.

When you are ready to sail into marriage, let Lisa know what you want, how many guests you have, your date and your budget. Contact Lisa at lisa@lakemeadcruises.com, weddings@lakemeadcruises.com, 293.6180, Ext. 113.

For you happily married folks, Lake Mead Cruises’ Renewal of Vows is a special way to remind family, friends and each other of your mutual love, respect, trust and commitment. Renewal of Vows packages are offered during Sightseeing, Brunch and Dinner Cruises.

Whether you select a Top Deck Wedding, a Private Wedding Package or Renewal of Vows, aside from the natural beauty of Lake Mead and the surrounding area, the hidden beauty comes from Lisa and our gracious Crew’s attention to the tiniest details. You and your guests arrive to celebrate! Leave setup and cleanup to Lake Mead Cruises!
