You can get a chip reader for about $10 so you do not have to plug your camera into your computer when you want to download pictures. This way you can just pull the chip out of your camera and plug it into your chip reader, then copy your pictures to your My Pictures folder.
What if you don’t have a computer? No problem. There are printers on the market that you can just put your chip into and print. One way to save your photos if you don’t have a computer is to get a Multi-Function Recorder (MFR). You can find them at http://www.addonics.com/products/mfr/
As a stand alone portable storage appliance, an MFR can transfer data stored on 10 different types of Flash media directly onto low cost high capacity DVDs or CDs with just the press of a button. An MFR can also connect directly to a TV or projector so you can view digital photos or play a DVD movie.
We just got back from a 19 day trip to Vietnam and the MFR worked great! Over 2700 photos and videos were saved with no problems! We put some of the photos on our website. www.applebyarts.com
If you want to take a class on digital photos call CCSN 651-4040 and sign up for one of the classes that I teach there.
