Science can be fun and exciting when you sign up for one of the Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department two-hour science camps held on scheduled Saturdays from 9 to 11am. Each session introduces new material. Upcoming camp dates are: Oct. 14th, Nov. 4th, Dec. 9th, Jan. 13th, and Feb. 10th
These camps take place at the Department of Water and Power Building located at 600 Nevada Way. The camp fee is $20 per session. Please pre-register at the Recreation Department at 900 Arizona Street.
Science camp students will do hands-on experiments in chemistry, biology and more. Students will discover just how incredible math and science is.
Instructor Jenny Ballif, also fondly known in town as Science Mom, has a bachelor’s degree in crop science and a master’s degree in plant science with an emphasis in molecular biology.
Each year when Take Your Child to Work Day comes around; the City looks for interesting ways to engage the children that participate. The big hit of the day was the many science activities that Jenny provided. The experiment was in mixing cold and warm water to represent the effect of large bodies of water mixing in nature. The children were truly enthralled, and your child too can have this amazing experience. |
