In January, I wrote about several anniversaries that would be celebrated in 2012. I skipped a very important anniversary because I wanted to save that topic for my March column.

On March 20, 2002, the Boulder City Library opened the doors of the “New” building at 701 Adams Boulevard. We will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary in this building all year with a series of programs and other activities! March is a busy month to get everyone in the mood to celebrate!

March 7, 7 p.m., The Relativity of Albert Einstein, a one-man show presented by actor Duffy Hudson. Suggested for Jr. High and older.

March 13, 7 p.m. our Tuesday Talk with a Ranger series will continue.  All Ages.

March 14, 5:30 p.m., Boulder City Chamber of Commerce Mixer hosted at the Library.

March 21, 7 p.m., Boulder City Library Open House hosted by the Board of Trustees of BCL. Everyone is invited to stop by and help us celebrate our 10th Anniversary. Special guests will include former Board Members and Staff Members…and YOU. Light refreshments will be served.

March 24, 1 p.m., Movie of the Month kick-off. This will be the first of our new Movie of the Month series shown on the 4th Saturday of each month. In 2012, we will be showing a variety of films that were popular in the year 2002. Our first movie will be Catch Me If You Can, rated PG-13 for Language and Brief Sexuality. Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks star in this film based on the amazing true story of the youngest man to ever be put on the FBI’s “Most Wanted List.” Bring a comfy lawn chair and join the fun. Light refreshments will be available as long as they last.

In addition to all of these special events in March, we will host our regular selection of Storytimes and other programs for our younger library patrons.

The special programs we are hosting all this year are all leading up to yet another special celebration in March, 2013. More about that later!
