Having lived in Boulder City since 1999, Ray Turner has built an excellent reputation for his artistic craftsmanship with tile and stone. Ray immigrated to the United States from Ireland in 1987. His original dream was to become a chef. But, because the pay in Los Angeles’ kitchens was so poor, he started working part-time with his uncle on the weekends. It soon became apparent to him that he had a natural ability and attraction toward tile.
Ray finds it very rewarding to create stunning installations that are both functional and attractive. Even now, after twenty-five years in the business, his main goal with every job is to leave a mark and provide visual stimulation for others. Ray has worked on and supervised the installation of tile at many Las Vegas hotels and casinos including, Caeser’s Palace, The Venetian, New York - New York and Sunset Station, to name a few.
Mostly, he specializes in residential remodeling because there is more satisfaction from elated homeowners and there are fewer chances of projects being delayed. Ray has a natural talent for design and enjoys the planning and selection of materials to best suit the flavor of a home or space. He's been a licensed Nevada contractor since 1999.
Recently, Ray has started offering guided tours to Ireland during the summer months. Taking small groups of four to sixteen people, his tours focus primarily on a more down-to-earth visit. His tour provides a more authentic experience by including his family and friends while visiting the must-see attractions. Tours are specifically designed with the clients interests in mind, whether it’s music, golf, theatre, art, nature, mystical or, of course, finding your roots. If you don’t have Irish roots you will after a visit. Ray is currently planning his 2013 visit. Contact him today to join in.
Ray Turner loves Boulder City and all of the friendly residents who live here. He sincerely hopes you will allow him to help with your next project.
