Recreation History
I thought it would be fun to share a little history with you all. In case you are new to Boulder City, the Recreation Department, located at 900 Arizona Street, was once the school.

I went to kindergarten in the room which is now the administration office. One of the upstairs classrooms is where I had my third grade classroom. The old gymnasium with the stage is where I performed school plays. The new gym is where our playground used to be, and the field area in Bicentennial Park is where we used to play kick ball. This all took place in the 60s and the building and property are used in much the same capacity today, with classes and recreation activities.

Beginning May 9th, the Recreation Department at 900 Arizona Street will host the Summer Parks program which operates Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. This program is open to children kindergarten through fifth grade. The Summer Parks Program is a fun playground program giving kids a creative way to spend their summer days. Activities include arts & crafts, games, sports, fantastic field trips and weekly special events. And, guess what? The children play kick ball and other outdoor games on the same field that I did when I was little.
