Who likes to talk about insurance? Hardly anyone. Who needs adequate insurance? Everyone.
In fact, to achieve your long-term financial goals, you will need the proper coverage to protect yourself and your family.

Of course, your insurance needs will change throughout your life. If you’re single and living in an apartment, you may not need much insurance. But once you’re married, with a house and some kids, you will certainly need adequate life insurance.
Also, to protect yourself from the possibility of being thrown out of work due to illness or injury you may need to consider disability insurance.
If you’re not sure that you have enough life or disability insurance, find out what you need – and then acquire it.
No matter how smart an investor you may be, your financial security will remain incomplete unless you’ve got the right coverage at the right time.
Stay Current on Your Insurance Needs
How much insurance do you need? It depends on your stage of life.
If you are single with no dependents, you may think you don’t need any insurance. But if you get sick or injured, and you couldn’t work, you’d probably have problems paying your student loan, car loan or credit card bill. That’s why you may need disability insurance – which might be available as an employee benefit.
Of course, if you get married and have children, you need to consider life insurance. Then, as you move closer to retirement, you’ll want to consider long-term care insurance, which can help pay for the rising costs of a nursing home stay. And during your retirement years, you could use life insurance as an estate-planning tool.
No matter what your situation is, you can benefit from some type of insurance. So, review your protection needs – and take the appropriate steps.
