Take Time To Enjoy The Holiday Season
Wow, it’s really hard to believe another year is coming to a close and a new year has found its way to our doorsteps. Yet, here we are anticipating the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. What I have come to learn during holiday times is that stress can come from positive things as well as negative things.

Even though I picture the holiday season as 100% positive and embracing every moment of it, I know there will be stressful moments that I must anticipate. If you too anticipate a bit of stress, incorporating physical activity into your daily routine will surely improve how you feel.

There are many opportunities through the Recreation Department to be physically active. At the City Pool facility you can participate in swimming programs with open swim, private lessons, the Masters Swim Program, Water Aerobics, Water Therapy and Dry Land Cross Training. Not to leave out our moms with children, we have classes that involve both parent and child for children 6 months to 4 years of age. This facility also has three racquetball/wallyball courts. It’s best to call for reservations to use the racquetball/wallyball courts. To make reservations, contact the Boulder City Aquatics and Racquetball Complex at 293-9286.

The Community Fitness Center located in ABC Park at 801 Adams Boulevard offers cardio equipment along with weights. You can start with a personal trainer or familiarize yourself with the equipment with the help of knowledgeable attendants. A membership has no conditions, contracts or further obligations. It’s only $3 for an entire day of facility usage and monthly rates are available at discounted rates. For more info. call Community Fitness Center at 293-0870.

In the area of Special Interest Classes you can enroll in Yoga, Tai Chi, Martial Arts, Belly-Dancing, Horseback Riding and Tennis Classes. Clay and other art classes at the Boulder City Art Center can be very calming and rewarding. You can even make gifts while releasing stress.

The Boulder City Art Center located in ABC Park hosts the annual Twilight Bazaar on December 3rd from 3 – 6 pm. Come meet Art Center instructors and purchase beautiful and unique gifts for the holidays at reasonable prices. All works for sale are the creation of our instructors and students.
