The Boulder City Police Department has a well-established long-standing ride along program. The intent of this program is to provide our customers, residents of Boulder City, with the opportunity to observe first hand our officers at work. I often suggest to those that are interested in participating in the Ride Along Program to choose the officer they have heard about, good or bad. This gives them the opportunity to see first hand the manner in which the officer works, giving them the opportunity to form their own opinions.
If you are interested in the Ride Along Program, contact the shift supervisor anytime to schedule your trip with us. Some restrictions do apply and as you may be aware, our profession has a few inherent risks, therefore, a waiver of liability must be signed. Younger residents are also welcome. Parents must be agreeable and sign the waiver of liability form on their behalf. If you ever wondered why two police cars were on a traffic stop this is the program for you; it looks a whole lot different from behind the flashing lights than it does in front of them.
Remember, for non-emergency calls, you can dial 311 or our other non-emergency telephone number: 293-9224. Until next month, stay safe.
