Back Up Your Computer Files!
If you get a virus, worm or other computer problem you could lose ALL of your files. This is not fun and it will cost you time and money to repair your computer. I have heard that people are replacing their computers when they get overwhelmed by problems because of the cost to repair them. STOP! If you save your files on a $.19 CD you can restore your system and save money. Here are a few items to save regularly: 1. Your e-mail address book. 2. E-mail messages. 3. E-mail accounts. 4. Digital photos. 5. The My Documents file. 6. All program save/work files and documents. Remember that sometimes when you do a system restore you might delete all of your personal files and restore your computer to the way it was when it was new.
Symantec’s Norton GoBack™ 3.0 allows you to undo some PC problems. It lets you "roll back" your system to the state it was in before the problem or user error, retrieve deleted files, and recover individual files or the entire hard drive. Go to the Norton website at http://security. symantec.com and click on Test your computer’s exposure for a free computer security check. You can also learn how to make your computer more secure. The photo above is my test results. It looks like my computer files are safe for now. You can also do a virus scan on your computer at Norton's web site. Do these checks before you back up your system so you don't back up a problem.
