Tech Tip

Using a USB Flash Drive
In each Tech Tip I try to remind my readers to save or back up their computer files. Saving and transferring computer files can actually be very easy. Data, pictures, music and other files can be stored on a pocket-sized device called a USB Flash Drive and then easily transferred between computers. USB Flash Drives can be slipped into a pocket, conveniently worn around the neck or placed on a keychain for portable storage. USB Flash Drives are about the weight of a car key and about the size of a stick of gum. These devices can store between 128 MB and 2 gigs.

USB Flash Drives are readily available at most electronics retail and discount stores such as Fry’s, Circuit City or Good Guys. I bought a 256MB USB Flash Drive at Costco for $46.99. Don’t Panic! Working with files can be fun.
