I love Boulder City in December! There is a chill in the air and enough holiday cheer with festivities to cure even the biggest scrooge! I am so glad to be a part of that local cheer through Library programming. You can expect the Boulder City Library to offer some fantastic programs in December.
One of our biggest events involves the return of actor extraordinaire, Duffy. He will grace our Community Room on Saturday, December 17, at 1pm. Mark your calendars to be here! Another big event will be the Polar Express Family Fun Night, Wednesday, December 14th at 6pm. If you are familiar with the movie or picture book titled The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg, then you have an idea of the fun in store for you! If you cannot make the event, then I encourage you to check out the book and movie early as they are in high demand during the holiday season.
The Boulder City Library Friends Group is up and running with all of your support! There are still membership opportunities available, especially if you are interested in serving on the very first Friends Board. If you are interested in supporting library programs and services in our community, then this group is for you! The next Board Meeting will be December 6th at noon in the Library Board Room. Now for a sneak peak into what you will find happening January 2017! The Winter Reading Program will kick off Friday, January 13th! This program is for adults and teens 13 years and up. It will include author visits, educational programs and prizes! The Youth Department has made changes starting in January. These include a Tuesday program for babies (under 24 months) at 10am, a Wednesday program for toddlers (ages 2 to 4) at 10am, and a Drop-In Storytime on Fridays at 10am for ages 0 to 5.
