Phenomenal dance instructor Jim Deutz is now teaching classes at the Recreation Department. Group lessons for children ages nine and up are offered in Jazz, Hip Hop and Technique for all level dancers. Group lessons are $10 per one-hour class and paid on a monthly basis. Adult group classes are offered in Hip Hop. Private dance classes are also available at $50 per hour.
James Deutz is an accomplished performer and choreographer and has experience with nationally acclaimed shows. He has been a dance instructor since 1986 in multiple dance disciplines.
According to former student and second year Rebel Girl Cailyn Coda, Jim's training and guidance has allowed her to accomplish more than she ever thought possible. As a freshman in college, she went to the College Universal Dance Association National Competition and competed with a select group from the Rebel Girls team in both Pop and Hip Hop. They placed third in Pop and first in Hip Hop.
As stated by Cailyn, “With Jim’s help, I was put in the perfect position to be able to take my dance to the next level with a team who is nationally ranked. A lot of the time, people come and go in your life, but the impact they make is so much stronger than you can ever realize at the time. Jim is one of those people. I remember the day I started dance when I was ten years old. He instantly showed his confidence in me and would never let me be anything less than my absolute best. There are so many things to be thankful for in this world, and Jim is one of them.”
