Win-Win Cruise

How would you like to spend a wonderful two weeks on a Black Sea Cruise, and benefit your favorite Boulder City non-profit organization at the same time? Sounds like a win-win situation to me, and I hope you feel the same way.

When you sign up for the fourteen-day Black Sea Cruise, sailing October 24th through November 6th, 2014, you will benefit your favorite non-profit to the tune of $500 – if you have more than one favorite, you can split that between two organizations. What a fabulous way to help out our worthy non-profits.

The Boulder City Non-Profit Consortium was formed last year to bring all non-profit organizations together for fundraising travel adventures. In September, the decision was made by the group to offer a Black Sea Cruise (something different, and a bit exotic). The listed ports for the cruise are Athens, Olympia and Sparta, Greece; Istanbul, Turkey; Constanta, Romania; Odessa and Yalta, Ukraine; and Venice.

So, let’s address the elephant in the room. This cruise has two scheduled stops in Ukraine: Yalta and Odessa. As most of you are aware, there is the threat of violence in the Ukraine (possibly more than a threat by the time this article is published). Yalta is in the Crimea, Odessa is not. Please be aware that the cruise company will not put its passengers in harm’s way. If it is unsafe to go to these destinations, they will substitute other ports (possibly two days in Istanbul instead of one, for instance).

As you can imagine, it will make it very difficult if everyone waits to see what is going to happen between Russia and Ukraine before signing up. So, if you have been considering joining this tour, please go ahead and send in the registration form and your deposit. We will then know if we have the minimum needed to make it happen. As we approach our drop dead date, I will poll all the sign-ups to provide an opportunity to change your mind. If we do not have our minimum of fifteen passengers at that time, we will cancel, and the deposits will be returned.

The early bird discount of $150 has been extended to April 30th. See ad this page for details, and for more information call 294-4365 or 293-2034.
