Google Place for Business

Have you ever done an online Google search for a business and wondered how that business got listed on the Google map? It is a program called Google Places for Business. Here’s a checklist on how to get your business started on the program:

Go to www.google.com/placesforbusiness.

Sign in if you have a Gmail account or create a new account.

Enter your phone number to see if there is already a listing.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

You will have to verify ownership of the business by a phone call or Google will mail instructions to your business address.

Add photos, update your address and hours, or promote your business with Google Ads.

Being on Google Places for Business helps customers find, share, rate, and recommend your business to their friends, as well as other people on the internet. Places for Business lets you see what customers are saying about your business, and lets you respond to their reviews.

Google has started a new program that lets you bring the technology of Google street views into your business. This program works in conjunction with Google Places for Business, bringing together your online listing with a spectacular visual of your business.

Here’s how it works: call me, Brad Appleby, a Google Trusted Photographer certified by Google, at 294-1392. I will take a series of photos of your place of business, stitch them together in a 360 degree format, add the Google Maps navigation, and the resulting virtual tour will get published to your online listing at Google Places for Business. If you don’t have a listing at Places for Business, I can do that for you too. This 360 degree virtual tour will allow customers to view your place of business before visiting. Customers can easily view the layout of your store, as well as the products you have for sale. Google will host the 360 degree tour free and you can link or embed the tour into your existing website. I can help with that too! There is a one-time fee for the photo shoot, and you keep ownership of the photos. You can find more information at business360photos.com.
