With only three months until the temperatures hit the triple digits, it’s time to get out and mingle with your neighbors. Here are a few opportunities for some pre-heatwave fun.
Whole Dam Town Garage Sale
Nothing says “family fun” like spring cleaning. Especially when there’s an opportunity to turn last year’s video games or sporting gear into some spending money. At the annual Community Garage Sale & VW Car Show in Bicentennial Park, plenty of local residents and businesses will be selling their old treasures so that the rest of us can grab a great deal. Auto enthusiasts will enjoy the collection of vintage Volkswagon Beetles and Vanagons, among others. April 7, 8am 4pm. For more information, visit the BC Chamber at 465 Nevada Way or call 812-6449.
Mystery on the Rails Tour
There was a time when die-hard Thomas the Train fans had to travel hundreds of miles to enjoy a ride on their favorite locomotive. Not anymore. This month the popular Day Out With Thomas will be in Boulder City’s own backyard, with 25-minute train rides featuring a full-sized Thomas the Tank Engine plus live music, story-telling sessions and a special appearance by Sir Topham Hat. Southern Nevada Railway, 601 Yucca Street, 4/14, 4/15, 4/21, 4/22 (rain or shine). Tickets are $18 for ages 2 and up.
