There's A Lot Brewing At Boulder Dam Brewing Co. And It's Not Just Beer!
by Todd Cook, Brewer
Being known around town as “the brewpub” is just fine by me. It sums up in one word exactly what we are; a neighborhood pub that brews the freshest beer possible right here in Boulder City.
I spent a lot of time in England, and that’s where I discovered the unique institution known as the pub. A pub is not a restaurant, though a lot of us have great menus. A pub is not a bar, but we serve some of the best beers available. A pub is a “public house.” It’s where friends and family come together to have a pint or a meal and enjoy each other’s company.
We’re excited to be that, and we’ll continue to do the things that bring people together.
One feature we’ve become most known for is great live music. Every weekend we showcase some of the best local and regional musicians in our beergarden. Another aspect gaining attention is the work we do with local charities. The Brew Crew is very involved with Relay For Life, Susan G. Komen, Boys and Girls Club, Rotary, MDA, BCHS and a whole mess of others. From organizing pool tournaments to holding the Rent-A-Hubby auction, people can have a great time while supporting great causes!
Obviously, the other part of being a brewpub is brewing! In addition to our regular favorites, we’re always exploring new styles with our Seasonal brews.
Our newest creation is a joint effort between us and Boulder Bean; a rich Coffee Stout using five hundred freshly-brewed shots of Boulder Bean’s signature espresso! In all, our little brewery has created over thirty unique, original recipes!
We’ve won quite a few awards in our three years, and admittedly, I like to display them throughout the pub, but the best reward is the familiar face of a friend sitting at the bar or relaxing in the beergarden.
