Art in Boulder City -
Shirley Jeane
“I believe that art is not complete until the viewer is drawn into the experience the artist is portraying,” states the new featured artist for Boulder City Art Gallery, Shirley Jeane. Shirley’s work will be on display from July 1st until the end of September. Her reception will be from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on July 10th.

Shirley Jeane began painting on a full time basis after a successful career in computer science and technical management. She studied art at the Bemis School of Art, the Loveland Academy of Fine Arts, and Pasadena City College. Shirley earned a BA degree from the University of Texas and an MBA from the University of Southern California. She is a signature member of the Nevada Watercolor Society, and is a member of the Boulder City Art Guild and the Henderson Art Association. She teaches beginning and intermediate watercolor classes on a regular basis and also consults in graphic arts, multimedia and computer technology used in the creation, production and marketing of art objects.

A very busy lady, Shirley still has time to explore her love of creating a wide range of works from the technical applications of computer generated art to the exquisite realistic watercolor work that makes her art in great demand. She has won many awards with her work, one of the latest being, “Best in Show” at the BC Spring Art Festival.

Some of the work now being shown at the Boulder City Art Guild Gallery in the Boulder Dam Hotel illustrates how Shirley, through experimentation with line, color and shapes and rendered in acrylics, establishes a flat unified surface combining unusual texture, space and color relationships. Viewing these works is truly an exciting experience. All are invited to come see Shirley’s work and to meet the artist at her reception on July 10th.
