The Acting Workshop

Hi! My name is Kristine Sader, and I’m the Owner/Director of The Acting Workshop. A native of Burbank, California, I attended Garry Dance Studio and The Burbank Academy of Performing Arts, where I was in a production highlighting scenes from Annie, CATS, Evita, and Oliver!. I attended Los Angeles Valley College, and was in The Valley Collegiate Players, a Theater Arts Honors Society. I appeared in Antigone, worked backstage at Sweet Charity, and studied many facets of the theater, including Stagecraft (Scenery, Props, etc…). I have taught first and second grade, and worked with children (including at The Warner Bros. and Disney Studio Daycares) since 1991. Now that you know a little about me, I’d like to share with you what we are doing currently.

At The Acting Workshop, our motto is, “Creativity through Positivity.” I believe that children need an outlet to express themselves creatively. It is more important today than ever for children, and adults for that matter, to feel a sense of self-esteem and accomplishment through teamwork. We have a lot of fun doing improv games, commercials, scenes, poetry readings and dramatic plays. Our prices are competitive, and we offer workshops for Preschool, Elementary, and Junior/Senior High with an emphasis based on interest, such as Musicals, Stage Make-up, Improv, etc. The main emphasis is on fun! We meet each Wednesday at the Senior Center at 10:45 am for our free Senior Club. Ask about our workshops for homeschoolers, our Moms group, and our improv birthday parties! We are presenting A Christmas Dreamscape, based on A Christmas Carol, on December 4 at 6:30 pm and December 5 at 11 am, before we head over to our entry in the parade. See you there!

We have ideas for the future as well! We would like to have special guests, a student film festival, a Coffee & Karaoke Clean Improv Night, and we would like to start an adult workshop also, so give us a call if these might interest you, to reserve your child’s place in a workshop, or for more information.
