I think that along with this, it is important that we continually fill ourselves with inspiration and wisdom so that we can help to stay balanced and peaceful. My teacher, Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, says, “Do not become an incense; you emit a beautiful fragrance, but you burn out and there is nothing left but ashes.” Try reading and contemplating something inspirational every day to keep your batteries charged. Following is some inspiration from great teachers.
“ Cultivate a heart that knows no anger.” ~ Cambodian proverb
“Being human, I feel profoundly the necessity of putting an end to violence, and I will make sure to put an end to it in myself.” ~ Krishnamurti
“Give with faith, and never without faith. Give with humility. Give with joy. And give with understanding of the effects of your gift.” ~ The Upanishads
“Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky." ~ Hafiz (fourteenth century Sufi mystic)
“God is the life that is surging within us; the life by which we see and love one another.” ~ Paramahansa Yogananda
“In the spring, hundreds of flowers; in autumn, the harvest moon; in summer, a refreshing breeze; in winter, snow will be there with you. If useless thoughts do not lurk in your mind, any season is a good season for you.” ~ Thirteenth Century Chinese Koan
“No matter what, be a diligent guardian of your positive thinking.” ~ Khenpo Choga Rinpoche
