Fine Hand Crafted Wire Jewelry
By Leigh Ellis

Tired of high priced commercially made plated and faux jewelry? Check this out!

Artisan Leigh Ellis (that’s me) is a 3rd generation Boulder City resident. I combine my passion of history, mythology, legend and lore into jewelry and accessories using new and old world styles and techniques, with a strong emphasis on my Celtic roots (Clan Sinclair mom’s/Clans Campbell & Hope dad’s).

All of my jewelry is made entirely of wire with no soldering of any kind. The techniques I incorporate into the designs make for durable jewelry that holds up as good as any well-made commercial piece (with proper care). I road test most designs myself AT WORK. I use fine silver, sterling silver, 14k gold (yellow, white and pink), 14/20 gold filled, copper, niobium wire, and the best natural gems available.

I use the highest quality metals and gemstones, creating pieces that have the essence of ancient cultures, as well as their deeper symbologys. Spirals, pyramid motif, sacred circles, and infinity knots are some of the many symbols crafted into each unique piece.

For fun I, (AKA Her Royal Grace Dame Aleigha Fyredrayk), am a medieval recreationist, a Knight Combatant, and Pirate (AKA Nautical Salvage Consultant). I participate in Armored Combat, Archery, Arts, Ministry, etc. and demonstrations throughout the Clark County school district, teaching hands on history to the kids with non-profit educational organizations such as A Time in History, The Adrian Empire and The Empire of Chivalry and Steel. We gain inspiration and ideas from period finds throughout the Medieval and Renaissance eras.

For my day job, which I also love, I am an IATSE Local 720 Stagehand, working as a rigger, carpenter, electrician.

I have helped the BCHS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) organize the Boulder City Renaissance Faires. I also participate in Spring Jamboree, The Doodlebug Bazaar, and Art in the Park. I will be attending Art In the Park again in October 2008 as a vendor in fine crafts, with my old favorite designs and many new ones.
