If you have already experienced Valley of Fire, it’s time to go back; if you have never been there, don’t wait! Oldest and biggest of Nevada’s State Parks and strikingly beautiful any time of day, you only have to be there early morning or late afternoon to especially appreciate brilliant red sandstone and petroglyphs. Camping, picnicking and hiking offer up close glimpses of the Mojave Desert, beautiful wild flowers, cactus and hardy desert critters that have adapted to our harsh climate, although it’s too early for stick lizards! Park entrance is only $6 per car, and camping only $14 per vehicle. Exhibits range from fine arts to large and small animals, and the best pies. This year’s concert is Thursday the 10th at 8:30 pm featuring Emerson Drive. The carnival operates throughout the Fair with thrills for young and old! Over $250,000 in prize money is at stake during each night’s PRCA Rodeo; all seats are reserved.
