This will be a facility away from the medical environment, where participants can explore classes such as art and music therapy, meditation, healing yoga, guided imagery, Thai Chi, nutrition classes, writing workshops, support and bereavement groups, and much more. The Caring Place will be abuzz with guest speakers and workshops and will have a staffed library to help those seeking information on their care. In addition to a huge variety of opportunities for adults, there will be many special programs for children that have a family member with cancer. All classes and programs will be guided by professionals and will be offered to anyone in Southern Nevada FREE OF CHARGE.

The Caring Place will host their second annual fundraiser at The Palms Resort and Casino on Friday, July 27th. ESPN Radio 920 will host the 24-hour radio-thon with many sports celebrities including Showtime boxing announcer Al Bernstein. UNLV Basketball Coach, Lon Kruger will be honored as Sportsman of the Year during a cocktail party in The Lounge at The Palms. The cocktail party will begin at 8 p.m., and tickets are $150 per person. Special gold ticket donors, $250 per person, may join Coach Kruger upstairs for a private reception from 9:30 – 11 p.m. There will be a silent auction, as well as prizes given away on the radio show. A special thank you to all of the Boulder City Merchants who have generously donated gift certificates, goods, and services for this event!
