I recently retired as the Vice President and General Manager of the Edgewater Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. The gaming giant MGM-Mirage bought out the holdings of Mandalay Bay Resorts, of which the Edgewater was one of their properties.
I have authored a “Playing To Win” series of books about gaming. This series includes “Playing To Win Craps,” “Playing To Win Blackjack,” “Playing To Win Poker,” “Playing To Win Keno” and “Playing To Win Roulette.” The entire series of books is available in various local gift shops and have sold over a million copies since being published.
My latest book is called “Texas Hold’em – Tournaments, Cash Games and Embarrassing Social Gas.” It's an informative and fun book about the game of Texas Hold’em. I recently came in second at the World Series of Poker Senior event which had over 1,830 entries. I have also appeared on numerous cash games that were filmed for television at the “Home of Poker,” Binions Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas.
I live in Boulder City and I and my wife of 40 years have raised six kids and have opened our home to numerous foreign exchange students. We built a small guest house 10 years ago and it has had numerous guests that needed a place to stay until they could get over a “speed bump” in their life. The Korfman family has never said “no” to anyone that needed help. My wife and I carry $5 McDonalds coupon booklets to give out to the homeless people we see, anywhere we go.
