After School Programs
The Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) identifies after school programming as one of the most significant proactive measures a community can take in addressing juvenile delinquency. The Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department urges parents to help their children find healthy outlets for their time.

The Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department brochure is the culmination of information of facilities and programs offered by the Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department and gives pertinent information such as times, dates, locations, instructors, maps, etc. of the services it offers. By now, Boulder City homeowners should have received the October 2005 – March 2006 Parks and Recreation Department Brochure. If you have not received a brochure in the mail, please drop by our main office at 900 Arizona Street for a copy.

Youth programs are offered in the following areas: Tiny Tots for ages 3-5 develops skills through art, dance, reading and other activities; Safekey for grades K – 5 is a before and after school program that provides time for homework, snack, playtime and arts & crafts; the Youth Center for grades 6 – 12, is located in Adams Boulevard Community Park directly across from Garrett Middle School, providing a supervised environment for video games, foosball, movies, pool, ping pong, crafts and more. Special interest classes include gymnastics, golf, horseback riding, martial arts, yoga, languages, dance, hunter safety, cheerleading, astronomy, babysitting and First Aid/CPR. The swimming pool com-plex and art center offer a variety of specialized programs, and league-oriented youth sports are offered seasonally.

As you can see, the possibilities to engage youth in healthy activities are endless. The ever helpful Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department staff is always happy to answer any questions you might have.
